Deep earthquake reported in Brazil after Earthbound Solar eruption.
Estimated magnitude 6.7 at depth 612 kilometres
The quake appears to have struck in an very remote area and being that deep there should be no damage, but these deep ones can be precursors of further quakes to come.
And interestingly, there was another large quake off the south-east coast of Africa on the big fault that passes south of Madagascar. This was a reported as magnitude 6.2 at depth 10 kilometres.
Despite the enormous distance between these two events, being just a few minutes apart, I can’t help wonder if they have a common cause.
SuspicousObservers yesterday reported a possible earthbound solar eruption, and while that is too soon for the torrent of protons from a CME to have reached us, the disturbances to Earth’s magnetic field are effectively instantaneous (Electric Universe theory differs significantly from the Standard model on this point).
I can’t say for certain these events are related, but there has been strong correlation from events like these in the past.
