It has been an extremely lively week for Solar activity. Suspicious Observers have the latest on the 3 flares yesterday.

There is some additional footage here that captured a spectacular upward lightning discharge, and unless my eyes are failing me, if you look very carefully you may see what looks like a plasmoid (ball lightning) briefly to the left of the main strike.

There have also recently been torrential rains causing huge floods and landslides in Brazil, China, Russia and many other locations across Africa, North and South America, Europe and Asia. This is truly a global weather phenomenon.

National Center for Space Weather warns of strong solar flares in next few days

China's National Center for Space Weather on Sunday issued a solar flare warning as a strong solar flare (X1.3-class) erupted from the sun. Other strong solar flares may erupt in the next three days, the center said.

The X1.6 class solar flare erupted at 2:01 pm Sunday Beijing time and had an impact on the ionosphere over China. It is expected that in the next three days, there is still a possibility of M-class or X-class solar flares, said the center in its warning.

It goes without saying, this also means there is an elevated earthquake risk, so far though it has been quiet and we haven’t seen a dangerous quake since April 5th.
